On October 26, 2006, the Oak Hill Heritage House had it first open house. Invitation were sent out to members in the community and supporters from other states. The turned out was great and the entertainment and food was marvelous.

It all began in 1995, Women Involved in Community Action was founded by Alma Peace-Bullock. Members of the organization consisted of concerned citizens and leaders in the community sharing the same mission: "Seeking Unity and Care In the Community Through Education.
